What this tool is for
This adds a tip and divides a bill between however many people are paying, with the shares adding up to the total exactly rather than leaving a penny stranded. It also handles the common case where the split is not even because somebody had considerably more than everybody else.

Questions
How is a bill that will not divide evenly handled?
The odd penny is given to one share rather than rounded away, so the amounts collected add up to the bill exactly instead of falling a little short.
Should I tip on the amount before or after tax?
Custom varies. Tipping on the pre-tax amount is common and slightly lower; tipping on the total is simpler. Either is normally fine.
What if service is already included?
Check the bill before adding anything. Where a service charge is already on it, an added tip is genuinely optional and often unexpected.
Does this work with no signal in a restaurant?
