What this tool is for
This puts two versions of something side by side and marks what is different: what was added, what was taken out, what stayed. It answers the question you have when a document comes back from someone else and the covering note says only that a few small changes were made.

Questions
Does it compare line by line or word by word?
Differences are shown at a level fine enough that changing one word in a long paragraph does not mark the whole paragraph as rewritten.
Can I compare two PDFs or Word documents?
Not directly, since this works on text. Get the words out first, with the tool that pulls text from a PDF, then compare what it gives you.
Will it notice a changed space or a stray blank line?
Yes. Invisible differences are still differences, which is often exactly what you are looking for when two things appear identical but behave differently.
Are both versions uploaded to be compared?
No. The comparison runs in this browser tab, so a contract draft is not handed to a server to be read.
